Setting expectations
What to expect
Herbs work gently and gradually. Here's the honest timeline.
Since 1979
Forty-five years of the same formulas
Grandma's Herbs began in 1979 in St. George, Utah, when Master Herbalist Joseph VanSeters started making natural remedies from time-honored herbal knowledge — six formulas, on a kitchen counter.
Four decades later they're still made the same way, in the same place, by the same family. The tagline has never changed either: “Because They Work.”

Every formula is made in the USA in GMP-certified facilities, with no fillers, additives, or artificial ingredients.

Health Information
What is a Blood Cleanse?
A blood cleanse is a process that supports the natural functions of the liver and kidneys, which help filter the blood. Blood-cleansing supplements are designed to aid in this natural process by promoting healthy liver and kidney function.*
Why is Cleansing Important?
Daily life often exposes individuals to a variety of substances from the environment, including those found in food, air, and water. The liver and kidneys serve as the body’s primary filtering organs, constantly working to process and remove waste and impurities.*
Supporting these efforts through a balanced lifestyle, including healthy dietary choices and proper hydration, can help the body perform its natural functions effectively. Some people may choose to incorporate traditional herbs or supplements into their routine as part of a wellness regimen aimed at digestive and filtering system health.*
You may benefit from considering ways to support your body's natural detoxification processes. Certain herbal supplements are formulated to support overall wellness by promoting healthy liver function, aiding in digestion, and supporting the body’s natural ability to eliminate waste.*
Research
Red Clover:
Red Clover brightly colored flowers are a source of various nutrients, including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. They also contain isoflavones. These vitamins, minerals and constituents contribute to overall wellness by supporting the body’s systems.*
Herbalists believed that red clover "purified" the blood by acting as a diuretic (helping the body get rid of excess fluid) and promoting healthy liver function. In a cleansing formula it is important to utilize herbs that support different organs in the body like the lungs, kidneys and liver.*
Dandelion:
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), often found in backyards, has been traditionally used in various ways and is known for its natural diuretic properties. It can be consumed cooked or raw and is a source of several vitamins, including A, C, and K, as well as smaller amounts of vitamin E, folate, and B vitamins. Dandelion also contains minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, contributing to its nutritional profile.*
Oregon Grape:
Oregon Grape Root (Mahonia aquifolium) has been used in traditional practices for a variety of purposes. One of the constituents is berberine an alkaloid also found in herbs such as goldenseal and barberry. In these practices, Oregon Grape Root has been associated with the natural processes of various systems in the body, including the liver, kidney, and gall bladder. The gall bladder, for example, is known to play a role in the production of bile, a substance that aids in the digestion and breakdown of food in the small intestine. Oregon Grape Root is often featured in herbal blends intended to support cleansing and overall wellness.*
